M1864 Pattern Cartridge Box
M manufactured by W.H. Wilkinson, and shipped to the Springfield Armory. One of 5000 delivered this has both tins and these show marks from the caridges carried.

Probably for a navy size pistol. The condition of the leather is very good with some "crazing" to the flap.

M 1878 Canteen
This is the standard Indian War Issue canteen with a complete US marked cover and a leather sling. It is also marked SC which I believe is the signal corps. Hard to find these now

Found in an old funeral parlour in the mid-west, this is one of the styles used to mark the resting place of a veteran.
